The Montenegrin women's football league (1. ŽFL) is the top level women's football league of Montenegro. It is organized by the Football Association of Montenegro.
The winning team of the league is eligible for a spot in the UEFA Women's Champions League.
The league played its inaugural season in 2011/12.[1]
History
Women's football started with a yearly tournament, the FSCG Trophy (Trofej FSCG).[2] Though a league system the matches only lasted 60 minutes and seven substitutes were allowed. The tourney was won by ŽFK Palma in 2009 and 2010,[3] [4] and ŽFK Ekonomist in 2011.[5] After three seasons the 1. ŽFL was started.
The inaugural season was won by Ekonomist.[6] They defended the title the next season.[7]

Palma and Ribnica were clubs participatin in the inaugural season that didn't return. Durmitor and Sport Uno played in 2012/13 but didn't play in the 2013/14 season.
