Moston railway station serves Moston in Greater Manchester, England. It is 4 miles (6 km) north of Manchester Victoria on the Caldervale Line managed by Northern.

Moston station opened in February 1872.[1] It is located on Hollinwood Avenue, in New Moston. It is unstaffed, the station buildings having been demolished in the late 1990s. Tickets must be purchased on the train.

Services

On Monday to Saturday daytimes, there is an hourly service to Manchester Victoria southbound and to Rochdale and on to Leeds via Dewsbury northbound [2] on the Caldervale Line. Some extra services call at peak periods, but since the May 2014 timetable change the service frequency has been cut from its previous half-hourly pattern to the present hourly one. New Northern franchise operator Arriva Rail North (who will take over in April 2016) plans to reinstate the 30-minute frequency in the future.[3]

In the evenings there is an hourly service to Manchester Victoria and to Leeds via Halifax, whilst on Sundays the hourly Manchester - Blackburn service calls.
