Mount Saint Joseph (commonly Saint Joe or Mount Saint Joe) is a Catholic college preparatory school for young men from ninth to twelfth grade sponsored by the Xaverian Brothers and located within the Archdiocese of Baltimore, Maryland. Faithful to the tradition of Xaverian education, Mount Saint Joseph strives to be a community of growth and learning characterized by enduring personal relationships, an emphasis on spiritual formation, a challenging academic program, and a commitment to justice and peace.

School colors and mascot

The school colors are purple and cream. The mascot of the Mount is the Gael.

Sports

Mount Saint Joseph plays most of its sports including wrestling, football, rugby, soccer, volleyball, basketball, water polo and tennis in the MIAA 'A' Conference against other Catholic and private schools. The most success has come from the wrestling program, whose varsity team has over 20 conference championships and 9 national championships. The basketball team won the Baltimore Catholic League in 2012/13.[2]

Clubs and activities

Mount Saint Joseph sponsors many student-inspired clubs such as chain-mail club, the Beatles club, Think Tank, the anime club, the video game club, and an It's Academic team, which won the Baltimore Catholic League in 2001 2007, 2008 and 2013. There is also a chapter of the National Honor Society, as well as an ACE Mentoring program for aspiring engineers. In recent years, the school has begun a Model United Nations team, and has participated in the National History Bee and Bowl since its inauguration in 2010, with at least one of its teams advancing to the national tournament every year. The Drama Club partners up with the local Catholic all-girls school, Mount DeSales to perform two shows each year: a play in the fall and a musical in the spring.
