The arts
Mount Saint Mary Academy has a music program including a concert band, jazz ensemble, string orchestra, and the only all-girls’ marching band in New York State. The all-girls marching band has been chosen to perform at Walt Disney World for the Walt Disney World Easter Parade, as well as the New York City Saint Patrick's Day Parade and performed in the 2009 Presidential Inaugural festivities. MSM also has private singing lessons, a chorus and an all-girls a capella group, The Gemstones. Vocalists at Mount Saint Mary's perform at school concerts, masses, plays and at community events. Students may also take music theory as a fine-arts elective.
Mount Saint Mary's offers student activities relating to fine-arts and visual arts including a drama club, fall musical, creative writing club and dance team.
Live! Starring... You!
Live! Starring... You! is a media organization started by Tim O'Shei that connects MSM students with professional entertainers. The interviews are conducted by students and are aimed at demystifying the entertainment industry and gives them the opportunity to attend multiple red carpet events.
