The prehensile-tailed hutia (Mysateles prehensilis) is a species of rodent in the family Capromyidae. It is an arboreal foliovore.[1] Its karyotype has 2n = 34 and FN = 54-56.[2]
It is an IUCN Red List Near threatened species — endemic to Cuba.
