N. K. Premachandran is an active Indian politician and Member of Parliament from Kollam Lok Sabha constituency in the current (16th Indian parliament). He was the Minister of Water Resources in the state of Kerala (2006-2011), responsible for irrigation, ground water development, water supply and sanitation. He has a very noble and extensive political persona during his career. NK Premachndran born at Navaikulam a remote village in the state of Kerala on 25th may 1960.His father is Mr Krishnapillai and mother Miss Maheshwari Amma. He started political career from student movement. He represented as the member of parliament of India in both houses Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, member of legislative assembly in Kerala and various local ruling bodies. He is the Central Secretariat Members of RSP (Revolutionary Socialist Party) and office bearer of several trade unions IRE, KMML, FACT, HMT, NTC Mill, TTP, Cochin Shipyard, Cashew and Plantation sector.[2]
