Naanal (English: Tall Gross or Reed) is 1964 black-and-white Tamil Family Drama film was directed by K. Balachandar and produced by G. N. Saravanan. The film script were written by K. Balachandar. Music by V. Kumar assets to the film. The film starring R. Muthuraman, Major Sundararajan, Sreekanth, Sowcar Janaki K. R. Vijayaand Nagesh played lead role to protagonist.[1][2][3][4] When Crazy Mohan wrote his first play for S. V. Sekhar's troupe, he was inspired by Naanal to create Crazy Thieves in Palavakkam.[5]
Plot
The story about four jail birds escaping the prison to avenge the judge who sentenced them. They take hostage of his house and the movie built around the judge and his family escape from the hostage. Although the movie has supporting cast that shines throughout the movie(Sowcar Janaki , Sreekanth, K. R. Vijaya, R. Muthuraman and of course Nagesh). The film is brilliant because of sudararajan(who plays the leader of the rat pack) and V. S. Raghavan(who plays the Judge).
