Sovima Cricket Stadium is a cricket ground in the Dimapur, Nagaland. The ground is only cricket in eastern state of India.[1]
In 2012, Nagaland Cricket Association and Government of Nagaland inaugurated new stadium in Sovima near Dimapur. The stadium costed 10.33 crores with all the modern technologies. [2]
The ground has got floodlight so that stadium can host day-night matches. The is a made considering all norms of BCCI so that Ranji Trophy matches can be played.
The will also has branch of National Cricket Academy located so that players need not to travel to Guwahati and other places for training and coaching camps. [3]
First match played on this ground was between Under-16 Dimapur district team and the Sovima Youth Cricket Club where Dimapur defeated Sovima Youth Cricket Club by 68 runs in friendly match of 50 overs in April 2012.[4]
In 2013, the stadium was the host of the Nagaland Cricket Association North East Twenty20 Cup.[5]
