National Background Investigations Bureau

National Background Investigations Bureau (NBIB) is the announced name of a soon to be U.S. governmental agency within the Office of Personnel Management that will be responsible for performing background checks on federal personnel. The future creation of the agency was announced in January 2016.[1] It will replace the Office of Personnel Management's Federal Investigative Services Division, following a series of intelligence failures and exposed corruption.[2]
