Ndriçim Shtubina (born 18 March 1987 in Shkodër) is an Albanian football player who currently plays for Vllaznia Shkodër in the Albanian Superliga, where he is also the club captain.[1][2][3][4]

Career

Vllaznia

He started his youth career at Vllaznia Shkodër. He will be long remembered for his European goal scored on 9 July 2009 against Irish side Sligo Rovers, in the match valid for 2009–10 UEFA Europa League First qualifying round, where Shtubina played as a starter and scored the match opening goal in the 42nd minute, an equalizing goal in the 84th minute of the second half and finished the game in the 1–1 draw.[5]

Return to Vllaznia

In June 2012, Shtubina signed with Vllaznia, returning to Shkodër after one a year absence.[6] He came from Flamurtari Vlorë along with his teammate Halim Begaj.[7] During an interview, Shtubia said that he returned to Vllaznia with a goal to win the league, but however, Vllaznia finished in 6th place, and failed to qualify in European competitions.

2012–13 season

During 2012–13 season, Shtubina played only 22 matches, including 17 in league. He played his first match of the season one week one of 2012–13 Albanian Superliga, where he played last 20 minutes in a 3–1 home defat in Loro Boriçi Stadium against Skënderbeu.[8] In November 2012, he suffered an injury in knee that will keep him out of the field until January 2013.[9] On 4 May 2013, he scored his first and last goal of the season in a 3–1 away lose against his former club Flamurtari.[10] At the end of the season, being not happy with the results, he said that he could leave Vllaznia during summer transfers window.[11]

2013–14 season

In 2013–14 season, Shtubina played 32 matches in all competitions, where 30 of them he played in league. He played first match of the season on 31 August 2013 in a 0–1 home lose against KS Flamurtari.[12] On 18 September, Shtubina scored his first goal of the season in a 2–0 win over KF Tirana in Loro Boriçi Stadium.[13] On 20 October, Shtubina scored in 9th minute of the match against KF Laçi where Blue & Reds got a 2–1 win in last minute after e goal scored by Tomislav Bušić.[14] In next match on 26 October, he scored the only goal in a match against Partizani Tirana that finished 1–0.[15] For the new year, he scored a crucial goal in the 93rd minute of 1–1 draw against Teuta on 8 February.[16] Shtubina scored his fifth goal of the season in a 2–0 win over against KF Laçi;[17] the goal come from an individual action from Shtubina who managed to come into the zone and beat the goalkepper Edvan Bakaj. On 30 March, he scored the only goal in a match against current champions Skënderbeu in the 88th minute.[18] One minute later, he got a yellow card that means he would miss the next league match against KS Lushnja.[19] He returned in the field on 19 April and scored the third goal in a 4–2 away win over Kastrioti.[20] This was his third consecutive match in a row that he scored a goal. He ended the season with seven goals and 30 appearances throughout the season, with Vllaznia who managed to stay in Albanian Superliga for another season.

2014–15 season

During summer transfers window, many rumors circulating for a possible leave of Shtubina from Vllaznia, with Partizani and Teuta who were ready to make an offer and buy the 27 years old midfielder.[21][22] But, he renew his contrat in July 2014,[23] and was named club capitain for 2014–15 season.[4]

He played his first match of the season one week one of 2014–15 Albanian Superliga, where he playerd full 90 minutes in a 2–1 defat in Loro Boriçi Stadium against FK Kukësi.[24] Shtubina scored his first goal of the season on 11 September 2014 from a direct corner kick in a 1–1 draw against KF Tirana.[25] After that, on 20 September 2014, he scored twice in a 2–0 win over Apolonia in a stadium that was without the fans because the incidents that happened against Tirana.[26] He scored first goal from penalty kick. Shtubina dedicated his goals to the fans.[27]
