Newport Transport,[1] known as Newport Bus, is the main provider of bus services in the city of Newport, South Wales. Formerly a Newport City Council department, it became an entity in 1986, following the Transport Act 1985. Newport City Council retains ownership, which makes it one of the few remaining municipal bus companies.
Services
In the summer months, Newport Transport also operate the red-liveried open-top bus tour of the city under the City Sightseeing branding using a converted Alexander bodied Scania N113DRB double decker.
Livery
The original pre-war livery of maroon was changed to green and cream in the 1940s and remained the same until August 2009. The current livery is dark green and white with lime green and grey logos at the rear of the vehicles although there are a few exceptions.
