Nohshad Shah (Bengali: নওশাদ শাহ) is a British investment banker who works for Goldman Sachs as Managing Director in its Securities Division. He previously worked for Deutsche Bank as Managing Director and Head of Rates Hedge Fund Sales.

Early life

Shah is British and of Bangladeshi descent. He is the only son of Nasir Ali Shah, senior partner at Mohammad, Shah & Co, a firm of Chartered Accountants in the UK, and is also the founder chairman of Progressive Life Insurance Company in Bangladesh.[1][2]

Shah graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of York and a Master's degree in Finance and Accounting from London School of Economics.[1][2]

Career

Shah has been in the financial industry since 2001[1][2] and started off as an interest rates trader for Bear Stearns. He was then a portfolio manager with Endeavour Capital,[3] a $4 billion AUM Hedge Fund taking advantage of arbitrage opportunities in global rates and foreign exchange markets.[1][2]

In 2010, Shah joined Deutsche Bank, where he worked as Managing Director and Head of Rates Hedge Fund Sales.[4][5] In 2015,[3] he joined Goldman Sachs as Managing Director in its Securities Division. He heads Interest Rate Product Hedge Fund Sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa.[1][2][6]
