"Nothing Ever Goes as Planned" is the third single release from Styx's 1981 triple-platinum album Paradise Theatre. A chart disappointment following the first two singles off the album, it peaked at #54 on the U.S. pop chart in late summer 1981. It also reached #33 on the Canada RPM Top Singles chart the week of September 5th, 1981.
