Om Yun-chol (Chosŏn'gŭl: 엄윤철; born 18 November 1991)[1] is a North Korean weightlifter. He is 152 cm / 5'0" and weighs 56 kg /123 lbs.[1] He won the gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics at the men's 56 kg event.[1] He became only the fifth man to ever clean and jerk three times his own body weight.[2] He is also the fourth man to lift over 3 times bodyweight multiple times after succeeding in breaking the world record clean and jerk of 169 kg in the –56 kg weight class during the Asian Interclub Championships.[3] Om represents the Amnokgang Sports Team.[4]
