Personal life

His name, Onyekachi, means "Who is greater than God?".[1] On 31 December 2007, Onyekachi was robbed and kidnapped in Enugu.[2] He transferred to French club side Stade Rennes in summer 2010. He suffered from a long spell out of the side through injury, but finally made his debut for Rennes in January 2012, almost a year and a half after signing.

On 19 September 2014, it was announced that Apam signed with Seattle Sounders FC just before the MLS roster freeze.[3] He was released without making an appearance on 5 December.[4]
