Orectolobus hutchinsi, the western wobbegong, is a species of carpet shark in the family Orectolobidae. Despite having been known for many years (often referred to as Orectolobus sp. A), it only received its scientific name in 2006.[2] It is found at rocky reefs off Western Australia between Bremer Bay and Coral Bay at depths down to 106 metres (348 ft).[2] It is a medium-large wobbegong with a skin pattern somewhat resembling that of a jaguar[3] and a maximum length of 1.5 metres (4.9 ft).[2]
