Ostroróg [ɔsˈtrɔruk] (German: Scharpenort) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Czaplinek, within Drawsko County, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-western Poland.[1] It lies approximately 12 kilometres (7 mi) east of Czaplinek, 40 km (25 mi) east of Drawsko Pomorskie, and 122 km (76 mi) east of the regional capital Szczecin.
Before 1772 the area was part of Kingdom of Poland, and from 1772-1945 it was part of Prussia and Germany. For more on its history, see Drahim County and History of Pomerania.
