Awards Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross

Otto-Joachim Lüdecke (27 May 1895 – 14 February 1971) was a highly decorated Generalleutnant in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Otto-Joachim Lüdecke was captured by American troops in May 1945, he was handed over the British troops and held until 1948.
