Career

Born in Las Perdices, at age 14, Chavarria went on trial with Sochaux. He impressed the club's management on trial, but he declined after he decided to return to his home country. Chavarria was also a childhood friend with Matías Suárez.[2] Chavarria began his career with Belgrano de Córdoba[3] and made his debut in the 2008 season in the Promocion.[4] He then scored his first goal for the club, in a match against Aldosivi on 12 October 2008.

Anderlecht

On 10 June 2010, the 22-year-old forward signed a four-year contract with the Belgian Pro League giants Anderlecht.[5] During which point, Chavarria was linked with a move to Toulouse and Club América.[6] Upon joining Anderlecht, Chavarria will be joining compatriot Suárez and Pier Barrios.[7]

Chavarria made his debut for the club in the third round of the Champions League qualifying phase and play-off round, in a 3-0 win over The New Saints on 3 August 2010.[8] Chavarria scored his first goal for the club in the sixth round of the Belgian Cup, as they beat UR La Louvière Centre 4-1 on penalty-shootout after the game went 2-2.[9] He provided an assist for Mbark Boussoufa and in return, he assist a goal for Chavarria, to allow him score his first league goal for the club.[10]

Ahead of the 2012-13 season, Chavarri were among three players that won't have a future at Anderlecht under the management of John van den Brom reign.[11] Following his return to Anderlecht,[12] Chavarri was involved with the transfer exchange when Anderlecht were keen to sign Ilombe Mboyo from Gent.[13] Chavarri was also linked with a move to Waasland-Beveren.[14]

Loan Spells

On 2011 he was loaned to Eupen to receive more first team playing time.[15] After a slow start to his Eupen career, Chavarria scored his first goal for the club, in a 1-1 draw against Lierse on 6 March 2011.[16] In his next appearance, Chavarria played against his former club, as they drew 1-1 on 12 March 2011.[17] He played 13 games and scored 7 goals before returning to Anderlecht.

After that, he was loaned out for two consecutive seasons to Kortrijk.[18] Chavarria made his debut for the club, in a 0-0 draw against Belgian side Westerlo in the opening game of the season.[19] Chavarria scored two goals in two games against Club Brugge and Lokeren.[20][21] During the match with Lokeren, Chavarria broken his nose.[22] Chavarria scored twice, in a 3-1 win over Club Brugge on 8 April 2012.[23] Chavarria made a double assist, as they beat his parent club 2-0.[24] Chavarria would go on make his 45 appearances and score five times in all competitions.

On the last day of the transfer window, Chavarria joined Kortrijk on loan for the second time.[25] Chavarria scored his first goal in his second loan spell, in a 2-1 win over Standard Liège on 30 September 2012 and later scored twice in a 3-1 win over Cercle Brugge on 24 November 2012.[26] In a match against Lokeren on 21 December 2012, Chavarria received a straight red card in the 61st minutes, as they lost 3-2. After the match, The Office of the Royal Belgian Football Association (URBSFA) would impose not only a two-match ban on Chavarria, but also a 200 euro fine.[27] However, the suspension on Chavarria was later rescinded and this allows him to play in the upcoming match.[28] Chavarria went on make his 33 appearances and score six times in all competitions.
