Palukuru

Palukuru is a village in Kandukur mandal of Prakasam district, in the State of Andhra Pradesh, India. Palukuru is one of the biggest villages in the district with more population and area with vast agricultural land in the village. Palukuru is the village connected to two big cities(mandals) like Kandukuru(6 km) and Singarayakonda(10 km).

Locals speak Telugu, English, Hindi or other regional languages of the state of Andhra Pradesh.

At the 2001 India census, Palukuru had a population of 2,100. Males constitute 50.08% of the population and females 49.19%.[1] The village has an average literacy rate of 41.5. The literacy rate of males in the village is 72%, while that of females is 55%.

The village is a part of the Kandukur assembly constituency in Andhra Pradesh. There were a total of 176,773 registered voters in the Kandukur constituency in the 1999 elections, and there are 4,518 registered voters in Palukuru.

In this village there are Devara gudi, Nagalamma, and Ayyappa temples. Devara Gude was constructed by Bondu and Katakam and a few more families. In this village, they celebrate Devara Thirunala once in five years for five days with good tradition, and lakhs of people will gather to worship lord Devara Amma,ksb. In this village, they will celebrate Sankranti once in a year total for three days, where all villagers will attend it without fail.
