Robin Bain (born February 12, 1980) is an American actress, writer and director.

Career

Early work

Robin Bain earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in theater from the University of Southern California[2] and subsequently went on to perform as an actress on the NBC comedy series, The Real Wedding Crashers,[3] Comedy Central's Mind of Mencia[4] and alongside rockstar, Gene Simmons in a commercial promoting his television series, Gene Simmons Family Jewels.[5] Bain then made guest appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno[6] and Real Time with Bill Maher.[7]

Bain acted as a live action character on Seth Green's Emmy Award-winning animated show Robot Chicken, which airs on the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim.[8] She also voiced multiple characters for the 2009 Robot Chicken Christmas special.[9]

Bain performed as an actress/model in a marketing campaign for the NFL Network in 2007[10] and was named one of Playboy Magazine's rising stars in July 2008.[11]

Robin Bain worked behind the scenes learning the ropes as a unit production manager in commercial and music video production and went on to write and direct her own work.[2] Working as a director, Bain has been at the helm of several music videos, most notably videos featuring In This Moment singer, Maria Brink[12] and country music band, The Clark Family Experience.[13]

Bain's 2003 short film, Paper Doll was screened on the independent film festival circuit, and earned Bain nominations for Best Actress, Best Director and a win for Best Short at the SMMASH Film Festival.[14]

Writer and director

Robin Bain wrote, directed and produced the independent film, Nowhereland in 2016, which speaks on the harsh realities of sex trafficking in the United States. Nowhereland is set for release in 2017.[15]

Bain wrote, is producing and is appearing in a lead role in the film Without You I'm Nothing, alongside actor Dolph Lundgren.[16]

Robin Bain is an author for Ms. In The Biz, a website dedicated to female filmmakers. Bain often gears her writing toward controversial subjects regarding women in the film industry.[17]

Personal life

Bain is skilled with firearms[18] and is considered a markswoman.[19] Bain's father served as a physician in the United States Army.[20] She resides in Los Angeles, California.[21]
