In 2012 PV ordered 34 three-car electric multiple unit trains and 7 three-car diesel multiple unit trains from CAF.[5] Later that year contract was halted and a new procurement organized. In December 2015, five contenders; Talgo, CAF, Stadler, Škoda and Uralskie Lokomotivy (a joint venture by Siemens and the Sinara Group) were approved for participation in the second stage of the train procurement project. The contract will be for 32 trains.[6]
