Permsky District (Russian: Пе́рмский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion), one of the thirty-three in Perm Krai, Russia.[1] Within the framework of municipal divisions, it is incorporated as Permsky Municipal District.[2] It is located in the southern central part of the krai. The area of the district is 3,753 square kilometers (1,449 sq mi).[3] Its administrative center is the city of Perm (which is not administratively a part of the district).[1] Population: 103,444(2010 Census);[4] 91,676(2002 Census);[7] 90,297(1989 Census).[8]

Administrative and municipal status

Within the framework of administrative divisions, Permsky District is one of the thirty-three in the krai.[1] The city of Perm serves as its administrative center, despite being incorporated separately as a city of krai significance—an administrative unit with the status equal to that of the districts.[1]

As a municipal division, the district is incorporated as Permsky Municipal District.[2] The city of krai significance of Perm is incorporated separately from the district as Perm Urban Okrug.[9]
