Pernia Moin Qureshi is one of India's leading style icons and fashion entrepreneurs of Pakistani and Indian ethnicity.[5][6][7][8] She has worked as a stylist with Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, and Conde Nast in New York and New Delhi.[9] She has also ventured into designing costumes for Bollywood stars, namely the film Aisha (2010).[10] She created and launched Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop, India’s first true fashion website that showcases over a 100 designers, and is available to the global clientele.[11] Her book, Be Stylish with Pernia Qureshi, was published by Random House Publishers in 2013.[12]

Early days

Pernia is a formally trained Kuchipudi dancer, under the renowned dance couple Raja-Radha Reddy.[13] She has performed at multiple dance recitals across India with performances of Sufi music by Abida Parveen, and dance transliteration of the Urdu poems of Minu Bakshi.[14]

Acting career

Pernia incorporates her talent into the courtesan she plays in Muzaffar Ali's periodical drama film Jaanisaar opposite Imran Abbas Naqvi, [15] a period drama set in pre-Independence India,[16] as a courtesan.[17] The movie was released in August 7, 2015.[18]

Qureshi was born in Swat, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan[19] to an Indian father hailing from Rampur, Moin Qureshi, and Pakistani mother, Nasreen Qureshi.[20][21][22]
