The Japanese School in Perth (JSP) (パース日本人学校, Pāsu Nihonjin Gakkō) is a Japanese international school located in City Beach within the Town of Cambridge, Western Australia in the Perth area.[1]
The school opened in 1978.[2] Historically the school was located on the property of a local Australian school, and the two schools had joint activities.[2] Since 1998 the school uses the four term system used by Australian schools.[3]
The school was previously in Scarborough.[4] In its history, up to 2012 the school had moved three times with its final location being City Beach.[3]

| The Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) classifies the Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney Japanese schools as nihonjin gakkō (Japanese international schools) as they are operated by Japanese associations. The former South Queensland Academy was classified as a shiritsu zaigai kyōiku shisetsu (overseas branches of Japanese private schools) and was the only Japanese school in Australia to offer senior high school-level education. The Russian Embassy School only serves primary school. |

| Western Asia is not included in the classification of Asia by the Japanese Ministry of Education (MEXT). Shiritsu zaigai kyōiku shisetsu are overseas branches of Japanese schools; these are boarding and day schools which provide sixth form/senior high school level education. Nihonjin gakkō are day schools operated by Japanese associations and, usually, only include primary and junior high school levels. The Shanghai Japanese School is the only such school to have senior high school classes. |
