Phil Scanlon
Philip Mark Scanlon (born 19 May 1976 in Preston, England) is a founding member of the Scottish rock group Idlewild. He played bass for the band from its formation in December 1995 through February 1997, playing on the band's first demo tape and single "Queen of the Troubled Teens", released through Human Condition Records. Scanlon departed the band to concentrate on his studies at the University of Edinburgh. He was replaced by Bob Fairfoull who remained in the band until 2002. The band's current bassist is Gareth Russell.[1]
He now works as a chemical engineer, and lives outside of San Francisco, California, United States, with his wife and two sons. He became a US citizen in January 2012.
