In October 2010, Lt. Col. Satyendra Verma, an officer of the Indian Army Sports sky diving team, successfully performed India's first BASE jump on Friday, off the 235-metre-tall Pitampura Tower. On 5 October 2011 Indian celebrity illusionist and magician Rajesh Kumar vanished this TV Tower in the broad day light for a live audience for the promotion of a Magic Festival which was organised by delhi tourism on 7–9 October 2011.[3][4][5] On January 5, 2013 a fire broke out within the 200m high tower around 10:30pm and took 15 fire men to control it.
