PizzaRev is a small fast casual chain of franchise pizza restaurants based in Los Angeles, California.[2] The company also has non-franchise, corporate-owned stores.[3] As of March 2015, the company has 26 stores.[4] in five U.S. states.[5] The company was founded in 2012 in Los Angeles by Rodney Eckerman and Irv Zuckerman, and their sons Nicholas Eckerman and Jeff Zuckerman.[6][7] The company's slogan is "Craft your own!"[1] The company's name, standing for Pizza Revolution, stems from the idea of empowering customers to build their own pizzas.[8]

Fare and operations

Fare includes personal-sized pizzas and customized personal-size pizzas that customers can have prepared with their choice of two crusts, various sauces, cheeses and toppings.[2][7] Customers queue in a cafeteria-style line when ordering, whereby company employees assemble fresh pizzas to order, after which they are cooked.[2][7][9] PizzaRev restaurants include the option of selecting a gluten-free crust.[10] All pizzas are priced at $8.25 each, regardless of how many toppings and ingredients are chosen.[10] Pizzas are cooked in a fire-heated, 900 °F (482 °C) stone hearth pizza oven, which cooks the pizzas in under three minutes.[10] Restaurant operations have been compared and described as similar to that of Chipotle Mexican Grill.[2][7][11][12] PizzaRev restaurants are open during lunch and dinner hours.[12]

Franchising

PizzaRev named Buffalo Wild Wings Inc., which is also a minority stakeholder in PizzaRev, as its first franchisee in August 2013.[1][6] As such, Buffalo Wild Wings planned to open several PizzaRev stores in Minneapolis, where Buffalo Wild Wings is headquartered.[6] The company has plans to increase its expansion with increased franchising and by opening more corporate-owned locations.[3]

Menu

PizzaRev's menu offers five dining options: craft your own pizzas, salads, kids meals, our way pizzas, and desserts.[13] Its menu offers gluten and vegan free options, with the vegan cheese and gluten free dough being an extra charge.[13] You first pick either homemade dough or a gluten free crust and as you continue down the line and build your pizza you have 30+ options of sauces, cheeses, meats, and other fresh ingredients.[8] In 2016 the company began selling a new double dough crust at many of its locations.[14] However the menu prices and items will vary depending on the location of the store.[13] If you are curious about nutrition facts or allergy facts about what any of the toppings contain you can find them under the Nutrition Portal on the company's website.[15]
