Polorós is a municipality in the La Unión department of El Salvador.

History

Polorós Columbian Lenca was a settlement. For 1577 he was given as a people of confession to the friars of the convent of Franciscans San Andres Nacaome. As the people of the parish of Gotera, according to Pedro Cortes y Larraz, had a total of 171 inhabitants in 1770, being known as San Gaspar Polorós. It was part Gotera Party from 1786 to 1827. Since 1883 belongs to the district of Santa Rosa de Lima, and from 1865-after having been in San Miguel, the department of La Union. He earned the title of town on February 28, 1891 by Decree lawyers.
