Portiglioni
Portiglioni is a village in Tuscany, central Italy, administratively a frazione of the comune of Scarlino, province of Grosseto. At the time of the 2001 census its population amounted to 62.[1]
Portiglioni is about 40 km from Grosseto and 9 km from Scarlino, and it is situated on the Tyrrhenian Sea near to the port of Puntone. It is a tourist resort.
Main sights
- Church of San Severo, ancient church of the village, it is attested in a document of 1104 and its ruins lie near to the sea.
- Tower of Portiglioni, old coastal tower, now reduced to rubble.
