Postboy, Ohio
Postboy is an unincorporated community in Tuscarawas County, in the U.S. state of Ohio.[1]
History
A post office called Post Boy was established in 1879, the name was changed to Postboy in 1893, and the post office closed in 1926.[2] The community was named in memory of William Cartmell, a young mail carrier (post boy).[3] Cartmell was murdered in a robbery in 1825, a crime for which the perpetrator was later hanged.[4]
