The President of the Council of Ministers of Peru, informally called "Premier" (form of address) or "Prime Minister", heads the Council of Ministers, and is appointed by the President (pending ratification by Congress as with all members of the Council),[1] however the Prime minister is not the head of government since Peru has a presidential system of government where the president serves as both head of state and head of government.
The current prime minister is Pedro Cateriano, who was sworn in on 2 April 2015.
