Priya Bhavani Shankar (also known as Sathya Priya) was born on December 31, 1989 in Pondicherry. She is a native of Mayiladuthurai.

Career

Priya began her career as a software engineer at Infosys. Later she quit her job and entered the world of mass media where she worked as a Tamil Newsreader in Puthiya Thalaimurai for a few years. After quitting Puthiya Thalaimurai TV, she forayed into acting with Kalyanam Mudhal Kadhal Varai on STAR Vijay. Lately, she is planning to pursue an MBA degree as per the sources reported by the Deccan Chronicle. She currently plays the lead role in Kalyanam Mudhal Kadhal Varai which is a remake of Ye Hai Mohabbatein on Star Plus [3] and.[4] she is currently hosting the show Kings of Dance on STAR Vijay along side Kavin (Saravanan Meenatchi Vettaiyan).

Personal life

Priya was born to Bhavani Shankar and Thangam Bhavani Shankar. She is the youngest of two siblings. She has an elder brother, Shiv Shankar, who is also in the media field. Priya completed her schooling at SBOA Matriculation and Higher Secondary School, Chennai. She holds a B.E. degree from B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Engineering College, Chennai. [5]
