Bali United Football Club is an Indonesian professional football club. The club is based in Gianyar, Bali. They currently play in the Indonesia Super League. Their nickname is Serdadu Tridatu (Tridatu Warriors).[1]

History

The club was founded in 1989.[2] The club was previously known as Putra Samarinda before moving their home base to Bali and changing their name to Bali United Pusam in 2014.[3] They were playing from 2001 to 2006 in the First Division before promoting to ISL in 2008.[4]

Bali United era (2014–)

To improve the marketability and achievements, Putra Samarinda (Pusam) changed its name to Bali United Pusam. Therefore, the team moved from Samarinda, East Kalimantan to Gianyar, Bali. Harbiansyah Hanafiah, the main commissioner of Bali United explained that he was willing to change the name and base to Bali because on the island there was no professional football team that competed in the highest competition in Indonesia.[5]

Stadium & Supporters

Bali United plays their home matches at Kapten I Wayan Dipta Stadium and their supporter is called Semeton Dewata.[6]
