REC*IT is a college fitness and intramural sports mobile application and tool that launched on over 800 college campuses in the United States in September, 2014. REC*IT allows college students to check game schedules, view results and rosters, and communicate with team members while receiving real time campus recreation updates via any Android or iOS mobile device. REC*IT is available to download for free in the Apple App Store for all iOS devices and on Google Play for Android users.[1] Moko Social Media is the parent company of REC*IT and acts as a social networking developer providing platforms for like-minded groups of people to communicate.[2]

History

REC*IT was tested for one year prior to launching on a pilot test group of college students in 2014. The app officially launched to over 800 college campuses in September 2014.[2] David Oestreicher, the current President of REC*IT, worked on the business side of intramural and recreational sports for nearly a decade before launching the REC*IT app.[3]

How It Works

REC*IT is available for free download in the Apple App Store for iPhones or Google Play for Android devices. The mobile app connects with imleagues.com, a website that works with college and universities across the U.S. to aid in the organization of intramural sports on campus.[4]

Features

Features of the REC*IT mobile app include push notifications, weather conditions, real time team updates, schedule and location changes and messages from other app users. REC*IT allows student athletes to register with an intramural or club team gaining access to their team schedules, rosters, statistics and updates via push notifications on all iOS and Android devices. App users also have the ability to send in-app messages to other participating members and view the fitness classes and activities available on campus.[2]
