Rajiv Mishra is a well known media professional and founder of Electronic Media Rating Council of India. His contribution in television ratings methodology in Europe has been recognised by International Telecommunication Union and European Broadcasting Union at Geneva.[1]

Education

Rajiv Mishra did Masters in Broadcasting from International Academy of Broadcasting (IAB), Montreux, Switzerland, MBA in Media Management from MCNY, USA and a Graduate Certificate Course in Multi-Media from UCLA, USA.[2]

Career

He had worked for Hindustan Times Group as Sub Editor, Star TV as Manager – Programming, Zee TV as Sr. Manager – Corporate, Reliance Infocomm Limited as General Manager – Corporate Affaires, News 24 (BAG Films and Media), as COO and director, India News as COO, launched Times Now news channel of Times of India group in USA as India Now while working for CineMaya Media Inc. of USA.[3]

Rajiv Mishra was with Lok Sabha TV as CEO in an official rank and status of Additional Secretary.[4] He is currently working with Samsung as Vice-President & Head (South West Asia) – Media, Corporate Communications, CSR and Spokesperson. Samsung Group is a South Korean multinational conglomerate company headquartered in Samsung Town, Seoul. He writes article's on regular basis for all major News Paper's. Wrote several Book's as well. He also hosted one of the most popular weekly interview show on Lok Sabha TV called "Special Guest".[5] He is the nominated Member of various Media Advisory bodies in various Ministry of Government of India.[6]

Rajiv is also the founder and first President of Association of Radio Operators for India (AROI). AROI is the industry representative body of all FM Radio Broadcasters/Stations of India. He also founded Association of Regional Television Broadcasters of India (ARTBI).[7]

Philanthropy

Rajiv Mishra's family had donated over 1300 acres of land to the "Bhoodan Movement". He belongs to family of freedom fighters. His eleven close family members were very actively involved in freedom movement and none have sought for any government support.

Rajiv Mishra's family members are involved in public service. His father Late Shri Mritunjay Narayan Mishra a social activist, was very active in Mithilanchal, established several educational and social institution's/bodies all across Bihar. His elder uncle Late Shri Lalit Narayan Mishra was the Railway Minister of India. His younger uncle Dr. Jagannath Mishra has been Chief Minister of Bihar for three terms. His cousin Shri Nitish Mishra was a cabinet minister in Bihar. His Brother in Law Shri P. K. Thakur is DG Police, Bihar.
