About the channel

In December 2007, BAG under its umbrella brand Broadcast 24 launched its first channel News 24. The channel with its fresh look and mass appeal attracted the audience and in less than three months of going on air, rose to become the fastest growing Hindi news channel in the country. "News 24" disseminates news that investigates before it informs, researches before it reaches out and ascertains before it speaks.

News 24 today has left behind old players in the news market as revealed in the latest TRP rating. It is now present on all DTH Platforms and is a premium Hindi news channel across the country. Responsible reporting and its chic look has appealed to the mass audience of India. The channel today boasts of being the fastest growing Hindi News channel in the country and is all geared to set new standards in news reporting.[2]

News24 has caught the imagination of the urban as well as rural viewer in a very short span of time. Incisive and creative, News 24 targets the global Indian with news that is credible, true and fast. With its tagline, Har Hindustani Ka Channel, News24 believes in the mantra of inclusiveness and targets to empower its viewers.

Over the years, News24 has attained the image of a channel that is constructive, solution seeking, engaging and relevant to the Aam Aadmi (common man).

The channel has set up 13 news bureaus across India, staffed by more than 300 correspondents. News24 will adopt tapeless cameras, obviating the need for the time-consuming physical delivery of tapes. The News24 network will be connected across all 13 bureaus. The network has implemented a digital archiving system that can store up to 5,000 hours of coverage with expandable memory.

Targeted at the ‘Young Adult’, News 24 is a potent combination of the most modern broadcast technology and exceptional editorial talent and promises to give viewers an unmatched viewing experience of news. The channel stands for top quality journalism and is supported with an unprecedented news gathering infrastructure across the country.[3]

The ratings and revenue alike speak a story of continued leadership, unparalleled in the history of Indian television. News 24 is now available throughout West Asia and the MENA region on DU network. The channel has got connectivity with 120 Reliance Web World centres across the country for Real Time feed transmission and is well equipped with state of the arts infrastructure and equipment.[4]
