Channel 10 was a premier Bengali language television network that carried news and current affairs in India. It was based in Kolkata and broadcast primarily in the South Asian region and sparingly across the USA through partner networks. This channel was owned by Saradha group, and its chief editor was Kunal Ghosh a Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP.In the year 2013 for handing over the channel to Samit Ray owner of RICE group,a MoU was signed between him and Sudipta sen .Right after the MoU was signed, however, Kunal Ghosh, who was a Trinamool Congress MP, posted on Facebook on 4 April 2013 : "Channel 10 will be operated by RICE Group. I have resigned from Saradha. Shall be with Channel 10 on behalf of RICE...Thanks to Saradha chairman Sudipta Sen that he had made investment in media. But unfortunate part is he did not respond to proposals for the long term benefit of products and employees. Hope in future he will be in media with full confidence. After the Saradha chit fund scam, within six days of signing the MoU with Saradha Group CMD Sudipta Sen and former Saradha Group Media CEO Kunal Ghosh, according to RICE group, they terminated the MoU .After the scam the channel has no links with Kunal Ghosh , Saradha. But it continues to be pro-Trinamool Congress even after the scam. Unofficially the channel is a Trinamool Congress mouthpiece."
