Rebola, Bola

Rebola, Bola is a song written by Aloysio de Oliveira, Nestor Amaral and Brant Horta, and recorded by Carmen Miranda in 1941 for the film Week-End in Havana.^[1]

The permanence of Carmen Miranda in the United States would undermine the renovation of his repertoire. Without the direct and permanent contact with Brazilian composers, forcing it to use the songs already recorded with singers in Brazil. Compounding the difficulty, in 1941, the American arrecadora society representative SBAT (Brazilian Society of Authors) by overzealous in wanting a larger share of the rights, made during the pendency, the music of composers SBAT were not performed in the United States. Carmen, with so many commitments, was in search of songs off the Brazilian SBAT catalog. Hence the reason to record old folk songs.
