Rees Odhiambo (AH-dee-AHM-bo; born August 23, 1992) is an American football offensive guard for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at the Boise State.

Early years

Odhiambo was born and lived in Nairobi, Kenya before moving to Texas at around the age of six. Odhiambo has one sibling, a younger sister. Odhiambo lost his father at a young age and also lost his mother when he was 17 years old.[1]

Odhiambo attended Mansfield Legacy High School in Mansfield, Texas where he began playing football his sophomore year of high school.[2][1] Odhiambo graduated from Mansfield Legacy High School in 2011. Odhiambo earned two letters in football and earned another letter in track and field.[3] Boise State was the only university to offer Odhiambo a football scholarship.[1]

College career

Boise State Broncos

Odhiambo committed to Boise State on July 13, 2010 and signed his letter of intent on February 2, 2011.[2] Odhiambo redshirted for the 2011 season, his first season on campus. That same season Odhiambo was awarded the Ultimate Goon Award by Boise State's head strength coach Tim Socha. Odhiambo played in each of the next four season appearing 32 games.[3]

Professional Career

Seattle Seahawks

On April 29, 2016, Odhiambo was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round (97th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.[5]

Personal

Odhiambo graduated with his degree in exercise science in December of 2015.[1]
