Refractory anemia with ring sideroblasts (RARS) is a type of myelodysplastic syndrome. RARS is characterized by 5% or less myeloblasts in bone marrow. RARS distinguished from Refractory anemia by having 15% erythroid cells with abnormal ringed sideroblasts.[1]
