René Klaus Heger is a German actor, whose credits include theatre, TV-Shows as well as the silver screen.

Early life

He was born in Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, the only child of Klaus Heger and Hannelore Hofmann and grew up in the small village of Linkenheim.

Film Debut

Heger made his feature film debut in the independent film "September Song", directed by renowned German director Ulli Lommel. The film had its world premiere on July 6th, 2001 at the Munich International Film Festival. Quite a complex role, it required an actor of great intensity and sensitivity, who additionally was able to switch effortlessly between speaking both German and American English fluently and without an accent in either language. Lommel hand-picked the young German for the lead role after meeting him in Los Angeles. Heger had just recently graduated from the prestigious Stella Adler Academy of Acting in Los Angeles.

Career

It is Heger's ability to switch between virtually any accent or dialect broadening his range as an actor tremendously. It provides the versatility to work between both European and American markets. He has appeared on several high profile television shows such as The WB's Charmed, The WB's Gilmore Girls, Wolfgang Petersen produced CBS' The Agency (2001 TV series) as well as FOX TV's Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. In 2003, he had a "blink-and-you-miss-it" appearance in the Scott Caan directed drama Dallas 362. That same year, Heger voiced various characters in Electronic Arts' World War II series Medal of Honor. In 2004 he played the lead character "Duff" opposite heiress Paris Hilton in the off-the-wall satire The Hillz. While the movie wasn't very well received, Heger received praise for his very natural performance. Next he could be seen in Lionsgate's In Enemy Hands in which he played the villain - the beyond reason loyal and fanatic German "Quartermaster Klause". The film also starred one of Germany's biggest stars Til Schweiger as well as renowned German actor Thomas Kretschmann as part of a German submarine crew, with Academy Award Nominee William H. Macy, Screen Actors Guild Award Nominee Jeremy Sisto, Scott Caan as well as Vampire Diaries' Ian Somerhalder and The Avengers (2012 film) Clark Gregg completing the American submarine crew. Lauren Holly also appeared in the film as William H. Macy's wife. Furthermore, he played the real life German SS-Officer "Werner" in the 2011 multiple Award-winning drama Fort McCoy (film) opposite Golden Globe Nominee Eric Stoltz and Golden Globe Winner Camryn Manheim. The movie also featured Academy Award Nominee Seymour Cassel and was directed by Award-Winning director Michael Worth. It won the "Hollywood Discover Award" -- "Best Feature" at the 2010 "Hollywood Film Awards" and 10 other awards at festivals across the world. Heger can also be seen in the Science Fiction / Horror ensemble thriller "Circle", opposite Julie Benz and Carter Jenkins. The film was produced by Scott Einbinder, known for producing Killer Joe (film).

In November 2015 he wrapped filming the lead role in the road movie drama "Links of Life", which also stars French Cesar Award Nominee Marie Bunel. The film was written and directed by French director Marie-Hélène Roux and produced by Cynthia Pinet and was shot in Paris, France and Utah, U.S.A.

As of April 2016, Heger is currently filming the psychological drama "Purgatorium" on location in Holland. Chuck Borden is directing.
