Dimitri Roger was born at Mercy Hospital in Queens, New York. He is of Haitian descent and grew up speaking Haitian Creole fluently. When Roger was 11 years old, his parents split up. His dad stayed in New York while he and his mom moved to Woodstock, Georgia. Before moving he was getting into a lot of trouble. Both inside and outside of school. Roger mentioned in an interview that he was always a class clown in school. He listened to Nas, Jay Z, Tupac Shakur, Notorious B.I.G., and 50 Cent when he was in Queens. Once he got to Atlanta, he started to get into T.I. and Jeezy.[1] Roger once worked at Wendys, but got fired for coming in high on the drug his manager served him. His first name was Black Boy The Kid, but when he started to get money he changed it to Rich The Kid.[2]
