History

Ridgeville Corners was laid out at an unknown date as an early trading point of Ridgeville Township.[2] A post office has been in operation at Ridgeville Corners since 1841.[3]

Giffey Hall in Ridgeville corners was erected in 1916 by a local citizen on a parcel of inherited land which she donated to the community. It served as a community center and gymnasium for high school basketball games until the local high school constructed its own gym in the late 1930s, although it continued to host youth basketball games. It was later used by a succession of private businesses and non-profit groups until it was purchased and renovated by the Archbold Community Theater in 1999.[4]
