Robert E. Howard's Conan: Adventures in an Age Undreamed Of is a pen-and-paper role-playing game set in the world of Conan the Barbarian, first imagined by the legendary Robert E. Howard. His original literary work has since spawned a vast franchise of novels, comic books, games, movies, and so much more.
Continuing this long tradition of paying homage to Robert E. Howard, we witness in 2016 the production of Conan: Adventures in an Age Undreamed Of, a 2d20 system role playing game developed by a team of experienced game designers, writers and artists, all led by Chris Birch of Modiphius Entertainment.[1] The rights to publish this derivative work were licensed from Conan Properties Inc.
Core Rule Book
The core rulebook for Robert E. Howard’s Conan: Adventures in an Age Undreamed Of is a 368 page full colour hardcover book containing everything you’ll need to adventure in the world of Robert E. Howard’s hero, Conan. It is based entirely on the canonical Conan stories, and uses the 2d20 system developed by Modiphius and used in Mutant Chronicles 3rd Edition, Corvus Belli's Infinity, and the forthcoming John Carter: Warlord of Mars role playing game.
Jeffrey Shanks, award-winning Robert E. Howard scholar and essayist (Conan Meets the Academy[2] and The Dark Man: The Journal of REH Studies[3]) has been hard at work guiding the Modiphius team during initial development in 2015.
Development
In 2015, British game company Modiphius announced that it would be releasing Robert E. Howard's Conan: Adventures in an Age Undreamed Of.[4] The core rulebook was launched via Kickstarter on the 16th of February, 2016.[5] Testament to the high quality of products from Modiphius, this Kickstarter was fully funded within hours of launch.
