Romans d'Isonzo (Friulian: Romans dal Lusinç, Slovene: Romanž na Soči) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Gorizia in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 40 kilometres (25 mi) northwest of Trieste and about 15 kilometres (9 mi) southwest of Gorizia. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 3,611 and an area of 15.4 square kilometres (5.9 sq mi).[1]
The municipality of Romans d'Isonzo contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Fratta and Versa.
Romans d'Isonzo borders the following municipalities: Gradisca d'Isonzo, Mariano del Friuli, Medea, San Vito al Torre, Tapogliano, Villesse.
