Run (Nicole Scherzinger song)
"Run" is a song recorded by American singer-songwriter Nicole Scherzinger for her second studio album, Big Fat Lie (2014). It was written by Justin Tranter, Julia Michaels and Felix Snow, who also produced the song, with vocal production from Chris "Tek" O'Ryan. It was released on September 30, 2014 as the second single from Big Fat Lie, and the first to be released in the United States. According to critics, "Run" is a "somber piano ballad complete with and even more somber vocals over this track where the singer offers advice to the next broken heart."[1]

Critical reception
'Run' was highly acclaimed by critics and fans. Scherzinger's vocals were also heavily praised for capturing the emotional depth of the song. Digital Spy added this song to highlights and gave this song very positive review:"[song] strikes deep with its emotive lyrics, soul-baring vocal performance and stripped-down production, proving Nicole's undeniable talent to any naysayers."[2] ClickMusic also praised the song "Her voice is powerful when she gets the chance to do something decent with it on album closer 'Run'," but he added that "it's all a little too late to make any lasting impact" comparing to the rest of album.[3]
Live performances
On September 30, 2014, Scherzinger performed "Run" for the first time on Access Hollywood Live. Mike Wass of Idolator praised Scherzinger's ability to "[ooze] raw emotion and [deliver] goosebumps-inducing vocal acrobatics."[4] On October 15, she held an acoustic showcase of her album at Hotel Café Royal. "Run" was performed as the closing track.[5] On 16 November 2014, Scherzinger performed "Run" on the eleventh series of The X Factor.[6]
