Rusty the Diesel is a fictional small, orange narrow gauge diesel train with a two-tone horn in the Thomas & Friends character television series.
Character
Rusty is friendly, calm and caring. He was built in 1957 by Ruston and Hornsby. Despite his rust-colour, Rusty's name is a portmanteau of Ruston and Hornsby.[1] He is based on the Talyllyn Railway's "Midlander".
