Sociedade Esportiva do Gama is a Brazilian football team, based in the city of Gama, in the Distrito Federal, founded on November 15, 1975.

The team plays in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série D, the fourth tier of national football, and the Campeonato Brasiliense, the top league in the district. It is the latter's most successful team, winning an 11th title in 2015.

Their home stadium is the Bezerrão, capacity 25,000. They play in green shirts, white shorts and green socks.

History

The club was founded by a group of sportsmen. They wanted a professional football team to represent the city of Gama in Campeonato Brasiliense. On November 15, 1975, the club was founded.

The Golden Age of the club was in the 1990s, when Gama won six state championships, and won Campeonato Brasileiro Second Division.

In 1999, Wagner Marques, president of the club at the time, guided by numerologists, changed the team name to "Gamma" (with two letters "m", instead of one). The supporters disliked this change. In 2002, the club was relegated to the Second Division of Campeonato Brasileiro, and in 2003 the name "Gama" was restored.
