Samuel (Sam) Kouvaris, Jr. is an American sports broadcaster currently serving as sports director at WJXT in Jacksonville, Florida.
Career
Kouvaris worked as a sports reporter in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore. In 1981, he joined WJXT, in Jacksonville, Florida, and was promoted to sports director in March 1982. He served as voice of the Jacksonville Tea Men of the NASL in 1983.
Kouvaris is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame selection committee. He is also a designated voter for the Heisman Trophy and the College Football Hall of Fame.
